My Town

Sechelt is a small town on the Sunshine Coast of BC.   The community relies on logging, mining, fish farming, and the tourist industry for income. As there is no road access from mainland BC,  the Sunshine Coast relies on the BC ferry system for transportation to the mainland.

Sechelt has a diverse community of artists, artisans and musicians, a theatre, a community centre with a swimming pool and fitness centre, a library and two small shopping malls.  Because of all the amenities here, and the beauty of the surrounding area, the town is fast becoming a retirement community for Vancouverites and residents from the Lower Mainland.

As the town sits between two bodies of water, namely Georgia Strait and Sechelt Inlet, the area is known for kayaking, diving and other water sports.  Wilderness and second growth forest is a few short miles away.
